Get help
Email support@macmdviewer.com. Tell us your macOS version, the app version (Settings → About), and what you expected to see. If a document renders wrongly, attach it or a short extract that shows the problem.
Where the settings are
Open MacMD Viewer, then choose MacMD Viewer → Settings in the menu bar, or press ⌘, (Command-comma).
- General: launch at login, opening files in tabs, and sending anonymous usage data.
- Appearance: light or dark mode and the document theme, which Quick Look previews follow too.
- About: the app version, the support contact, and the privacy policy.
Turn on Quick Look previews
- On macOS 14 Sonoma: open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Extensions → Quick Look.
- On macOS 15 and later: open System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Quick Look.
- Turn on "MacMD Quick Look" in the Mac App Store version, or "QLMarkdownPreview" in the version from this website.
- Select a .md file in Finder and press Space.
If the preview still shows plain text, open MacMD Viewer once, then log out and back in so macOS reloads its Quick Look extensions.
Ask for your data to be deleted
The app never sends your files. If you turned on anonymous usage data and want it deleted, or want us to delete your support emails, write to support@macmdviewer.com. What is collected, how long it is kept, and how deletion works are described in the privacy policy.
